About Spruceprints

I’m a veteran teacher of 15 years, mom to two little girls, and wife to a first responder with a rotating shift schedule. For 13 years I taught high school English in a private school. In 2024, I moved to a new public district and suddenly went from confident veteran to overwhelmed beginner—learning new tech, teaching middle school English, and running a nationally award‑winning elective at the same time.

In the fall of 2025, we bought an 1888 house that needs a full renovation.

Oh—and we’re raising two little girls who deserve magic and family time in their childhoods, even when life is busy and budgets are tight.

That’s where Spruceprints was born.

Why I Started This Blog

When I switched districts, I was paid as a Year‑1 teacher—despite more than a decade of experience. It hit me hard: moms and teachers carry so much wisdom that no paycheck measures.

I started Spruceprints to share the systems, products, and small habits that make real family life smoother, happier, and more affordable.

Because we know more than we think we do and we have gifts to share with the world.

What You’ll Find Here

• Honest reviews of things we actually use
• Simple systems for busy teacher moms
• Celebration ideas that don’t break the bank–from birthday parties to weekend fun
• Summer beach + pool routines that keep kids happy
• Renovation finds from our 1888 home project

We live for summers—my husband grew up on boats, and we make big sacrifices so our girls can grow up with the same memories of water, sunshine, and simple adventures. (Some posts contain affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.)

This blog is about finding joy in ordinary moments while living within our means.

My Promise to You

Budgeting takes time and brainpower—something busy moms rarely have enough of. I do the research so your family can enjoy joyful experiences without an unlimited budget.

Every product you see here is something we’ve used, tested, or researched carefully. When I link items from Amazon, Pinterest, or future home-improvement partnerships, I’ll always tell you honestly what worked, what didn’t, and what’s worth your money.

Because your time, energy, and budget matter.

The Heart of Spruceprints

I believe moms are the architects of family memories.

We are planners, teachers, chauffeurs, nurses, chefs, accountants, cheerleaders, and memory‑makers.

Spruceprints is here to help you build a life that feels organized, joyful, and doable—even on the busiest days.

Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.
