If you’re trying to manage two kids and don’t want to spend $800+ on a stroller, here’s what actually worked for us.
After trying multiple double strollers (including the ones everyone recommends), we landed on one that I would buy again in a heartbeat—and it’s not the most popular one.
The Double Stroller I Actually Recommend
After two years of daily use, travel, walks, and everything in between, the one I recommend over and over is the:
👉 Jeep Double Stroller
Why I love it:
- Comfortable for both kids (even now at ages 5 and 3)
- Easy to push (I’m 5’2” and this matters)
- Plenty of storage underneath
- Simple, no-fuss design that just works
It’s not the trendiest stroller—but it’s the one that made everyday life easier.
Why We Didn’t Stick With the Popular Options
Before landing on the Jeep, we tried (and seriously considered) some of the most popular double strollers out there.
And honestly? I felt so overwhelmed trying to compare them all. Everywhere I looked, there were reviews, influencer recommendations, “must-have” lists… and I kept wondering:
Do they actually love this stroller… or are they earning commission on it?
I just wanted something that worked for real life.
Our Experience with the UPPAbaby Vista
I want to start by saying—I truly loved this stroller in the baby stage. The bassinet alone made it worth it for us. Both of my daughters (born in January and April) spent their first 6 months in the bassinet:
- Walks around the neighborhood
- Visiting family
- Everyday errands
It gave them a safe, comfortable place to sleep on the go, which was huge for us. We also used accessories like the bassinet winter lining to keep them warm in colder weather—fresh air was important to me, but I wanted it to be safe and comfortable.
👉 If you’re building a registry or going in on a group gift, this stroller is honestly an amazing option for the newborn stage. You can find it here: UPPAbaby Vista Bassinet & Stroller

That said… once we had two toddlers, things changed.
What I didn’t love:
- The configuration for two kids felt awkward (they couldn’t really face each other)
- The Rumble Seat and adapters were extra purchases ($$$)… bringing the total price of the stroller and conversion close to $2,000 all-in!
- I had a hard time seeing over the stroller when pushing (I’m 5’2”)
- It’s heavy
- I had to remove the second seat every time I folded it for my trunk
- With a small house/garage situation, I couldn’t just leave it set up
At $1,279 (with bassinet), it’s an investment—and for us, it just didn’t make sense long-term.
Trying the City Mini Select
We were actually given a (slightly broken) City Mini Select from our babysitter to try out. And I’ll say this first—I understood why people like it.
- I loved having the girls side-by-side
- The handle height felt comfortable
- Seats were deep for both the girls’ bodies and feet
My brother and sister-in-law actually have this one and really like it for their kids—so I do think this comes down to preference in some ways.
But for me, there were a few issues:
- The one we had was hard to steer (front wheel kept locking)
- Storage basket was frustratingly small
- A bar runs underneath the seats, which makes it really hard to fit bulkier items
At around $749, I just couldn’t justify it for what it offered. If you want to check it out: City Mini Select Stroller

Back to the Drawing Board: I Briefly Considered Adapting the Vista…
I looked into adding the UPPAbaby kickplate so my older daughter could stand while I pushed. Unfortunately, it didn’t really solve the problem—I’d still need a seat for her if she got tired.
Plus, at 5’2”, maneuvering the already bulky UPPAbaby with a standing child left me cramped and uncomfortable. The UPPAbaby PiggyBack Ridealong cost upward of $150—too hefty a price tag for a solution that was not guaranteed to work long-term.
How We Found the Jeep Double Stroller
At that point, I was done overthinking it. I didn’t want to spend another $500–$800 on something I wasn’t sure about.
So my mom and I went down the Amazon rabbit hole—reading reviews, comparing options, trying to find something practical and worth it. That’s when we found the:
👉 Jeep Double Stroller
Price: around $250
And honestly? It checked every box we needed.
What We Love After 2 Years of Use
We’ve been using this stroller for two years now, and it has held up through:
- Daily walks
- Vacations
- Pool trips
- Constant in-and-out use
What stands out:
- Both kids fit comfortably (even now at 5 and 3)
- Smooth, easy push
- Great storage underneath (huge for real life)
- Reclining seats with simple strap adjustment
- Adjustable footrests
- Excellent sunshade coverage
It’s just… easy. No complicated setup. No constant adjusting. It gets the job done.

The Only Downside
The handles did wear down and eventually break. But honestly, this didn’t matter much for us. My girls are pretty independent and prefer to climb in and out themselves, so we didn’t rely heavily on them.
And even with that, I would still recommend this stroller a thousand times over.
Who this Stroller is Best For
This is a great option if you:
- Have two kids close in age
- Don’t want to spend $700+ on a stroller
- Need something lightweight and practical
- Don’t have space to store a bulky stroller
- Are on the shorter side and need something easy to maneuver
Accessories We Actually Use
These made a big difference for us:
- Double stroller handle organizer (for snacks, phone, keys)
- Clip-on LED lights for night walks
Simple additions, but they made everyday use so much easier.

Final Thoughts…
There are a lot of beautiful, high-end strollers out there. And some of them are absolutely worth it—especially in the newborn stage. But for everyday life with two kids? I’ll take simple, practical, and reliable every time.
For us, the Jeep Double Stroller was exactly that.
I’ll add more photos before our next stroll!
